There are several different ‘Sale Types’ within ParcVu, each has its own 2 letter Code which will appear on the ‘Sales Details’ screen
New Business Sales
A New Business Sale is when a customer new to your business is buying a Holiday Home owned by your business, which will be sited on your Park. There are 2 types:
NN - New Owner New Van
NU - New Owner Used Van
It is possible to run a New Business PX sale for a customer who is new to your business and part-exchanging a tourer or Holiday Home from another operator. This would still be considered a New Business sale in the Sale codes, so would show as NN or NU
An existing customer buying a 2nd (or 3rd!) unit would still count as a New customer, because you’re creating an additional new Account for them
Part Exchange Sales
A Part Exchange Sale is when you have an existing customer who is purchasing a different Holiday Home from you, and you are bringing their existing unit back into your stock. Usually you take in the existing unit in exchange for a Part Exchange Allowance which reduces the overall Cost To Change for the Owner. There are 2 types;
CN - Current Owner New Van
CU - Current Owner Used Van
Private Sale
A Private Sale is when an existing Owner is selling (or transferring) their Holiday Home to another person, and the new Owner wants to continue keeping the Holiday Home on the Park
PR - Private Sale
Even if no money is changing hands, its a good idea to run a Private Sale rather than just update the contact details on the existing Account. This ensures the new Owner gets all the information they need about Ownership, they only see transactions and communications relating to them (not the previous Owner) and most importantly sign a new Agreement with you as a business
Bring On Sales
A Bring On/Tow On is when you allow a customer who either already owns a Holiday Home elsewhere to bring that unit to your Park, or a customer who wishes to purchase a Holiday Home elsewhere (for example, directly from the manufacturer) to bring that unit to your Park. There are 2 types;
TN - Tow On New
TU - Tow On used
Trade Sales
An Off Site/Trade Sale is when you are selling a Holiday Home, that you as a business own, to someone who will be taking the unit off the Park. This could be a trader, or a private individual who will be siting the Holiday Home elsewhere. There are 2 types;
ON - Off Site Sale New Van
OU - Off Site Sale Used van
You can only run an Off Site Sale for company owned stock. If you have a customer wishing to sell to a Trader, you can either process an Owner & Van Leaving Park OLP and allow them to deal with the Trader directly, or you can process a Buy In OLP to bring the unit into your stock, buying at the price the Trader is paying, then process a normal Trade Sale
