☑️ Automated Cash Matching in ParcVu Desktop
Last updated 4 months ago
ParcVu can be configured to automatically ‘cash match’ payments posted to the Ledgers - matching them against outstanding invoices so that finance teams have a clear picture of which debts are outstanding and for how long
There are 2 automated cash matching methods available: Legacy Cash Matching and From Oldest Posting
In both methods, Automated Cash Matching will ignore any invoices marked as disputed
Enabling Automated Cash Matching or changing the Method can only be done by ParcVu. Please email ParcVu Support if you wish to have your settings changed
Automatic Cash Matching Using the Legacy Method
When switched to 'Legacy' there will only be automatic cash matching when the value posted matches the value of the remaining unsettled invoice/s exactly - ie if the payment made will bring the ledger balance to zero
If the payment is not sufficient to clear all outstanding invoices, no matching will be done via this method
Automatic Cash Matching Using the From Oldest Posting Method
When switched to 'From oldest posting' automatic cash matching will look for any invoices which match the value posted and match to those starting with the earliest match. If the value doesn’t match then it will look for the earliest unsettled or partially unsettled invoice and match from there
For both Methods, it’s important to note that Automated Cash Matching only checks one way - when a payment is posted, Automated Cash Matching will check whether it can match it based on the set Method
When an invoice is posted, Automated Cash Matching will not check if there is unallocated cash which could potentially be matched. Users can use Report 233 (Unallocated Cash) to find Accounts to manually Cash Match in these instances
